Help Me Get a Hearing Aid! | Baton Rouge, LA Photographer
I came home and took out the HA (hearing aid) to get a bit of a break and it was such an eye opening, “Man, I really have a decent hearing loss”. Listen to the sound you can hear, now go put in an ear plug. Yep, that’s what I’m hearing.

Twin Breech Birth | Baton Rouge, LA Doula & Birth Photographer
Twin A breech, in a hospital, with a vaginal birth.
That’s a phrase you rarely hear, but one local mother did exactly that! She believed in herself, found a supportive provider that believed in her and breech birth, and she had her babies on her terms with informed consent.

My story, and theirs began just before I got pregnant the third time. My second son was 13 months old and I so badly wanted another child. A month later we began trying, and we succeeded the first time! I was ecstatic. I began trying to find another Midwife that would be willing to do a homebirth, since I had a homebirth with my second son. However, I realized that this wasn’t going to be a homebirth after all, because almost every midwife I had talked to were completely booked at the time. I was really upset but little did I know God had a bigger plan.

Kate and I are in a few local Facebook mom groups, we have mutual friends, and in late October we started discussing different services I offer. Long story short, I found myself at her scheduled cesarean birth on December 3, 2015. Kate had expressed being nervous throughout our messages and conversations, but when I walked into that labor and delivery room that morning, I saw joy and excitement!

As you may have seen in the news recently, actress Hayden Panettiere, voluntarily checked herself into a facility to receive help with a Postpartum Mood Disorder (PPMD).
